Sewing Machine Service

Danelle has been working with The Sewing Doc Academy since 2025, learning what goes on inside the covers of your sewing machine. It's been a fascinating journey! Since opening the store front, she now has space to dedicate to getting inside more machines and sharpening those skills.

Currently, this is only available in person. As a beginner technician, I do not have a quick turn around on repairs. But I am happy to discuss your machine with you. If you just need a simple troubleshooting or cleaning, that can be arranged on a faster timeframe. Currently, I am not working on electrical or motor repairs. Serger service will hopefully be coming but I'm not quite there yet.

Service Options:

Troubleshooting Session: $25.00
Just need a tension issue resolved, not sure threading or needle is correct? Schedule a time to bring in your machine. We'll sit down and run through it together. The machine won't be opened up for any repairs, but we can do our best to get you back to sewing!

Vintage or Mechanical Machine Service: $50.00

Non-computerized machines will be opened up, cleaned of lint and old grease/oil and re-lubricated. This is not restoration-any. parts or further repairs will be discussed if needed. Parts not included but client will be advised of any extra costs before repairs are made.

Computerized Machine Service: $60.00

More modern machines with computerized components need some specialized care. They will be opened as much as possible, cleaned of lint and debris. Old grease and oil cleaned up and new applied. Parts not included but client will be advised of any extra costs before repairs are made.  If your machine is still under warranty, you may want to refer your machine to your dealer to avoid voiding your warranty.
